Grand Haven, MI – Over 80% of Americans have said they’d like to write a book before they die. But why do so few actually accomplish it? In bestselling author Tony Rubleski’s new book, So You Want to Write a Book – How to Get Off Your Ass and Make it Happen, he reveals proven strategies to write, stay on task, and complete a book manuscript in hard-hitting fashion. Thanks to several years of global upheaval, many people are re-examining their lives, goals, and purpose, and during that process, the vision or buried dream of writing a book pops up. Writer Joseph Epstein discovered that “81% of Americans feel that they have a book in them… and should write it.” That’s approximately 261 million people who would like to write a book.

So You Want to Write a Book officially releases on May 7, 2024, with pre-orders beginning in late April. Based on his own experience as a bestselling author of nine nooks and working with countless authors over the past 20 years, Rubleski’s book is designed to provide the reader with proven ways to not only inspire and save you time, but also find the mindset necessary to write and complete a book manuscript.

Rubleski said this book was written as a challenge by a fellow author who wanted to see if they could each write a book in 30 days.

“I was in the middle of writing a follow-up book to my last book when, over a cup of coffee with a friend, he came up with a crazy idea that we push each other to write a new book in under 30 days. I surprisingly agreed and this book is the result of the challenge. It’s also an answer to a question I get asked countless times: ‘Hey Tony, how do I write a book?’ The book is designed to help folks from all walks of life, to not just write, but finally achieve their goal of writing a book,” he shared.

Some of the topics and areas shared in the book include:

  • The inner battle most people face before they write and how to overcome it.
  • Sage advice and wisdom from top bestselling authors such as Stephen King, John Grisham, Brian Tracy, and J.K. Rowling.
  • Street-smart tips to getting the words out of the mind and onto the page.
  • Why reading other books is essential to good writing.
  • Myths that stop most people from writing and how to quickly overcome them.
  • Why writers block isn’t completely real and how to push past the feeling.
  • How accountability and habit force help get a book from idea to written to completion.
