Last week I was fortunate to work with Phil Porter and his amazing team at the Mackinac State Historic Parks. The training was held a few miles on shore from one of my favorite places in the entire world, Mackinac Island! Not only was it a nice, sunny day for our training, but so many fantastic memories raced through my mind from visiting this deeply historic and beautiful area many times over the years with family, friends, and clients. The Island is also near and dear to me as I hosted my first Mind Capture Boot camp there back in 2009.
Our topic with Phil’s staff was how to deliver Exceptional Mind Capture Customer Service. Before I was brought up front, Phil briefed his team of about 45 people in the room on the importance of incredible guest service and the many initiatives currently in place to make it an ongoing focus and priority. In addition, he shared during his short presentation a series of impressive awards and national honors earned during the 2015 season by several of the historic forts and parks they operate. This clearly shows that great people and great service DO make a difference.
To top it off, they also served over 1,000,000 guests and expect the same if not more this year! I was in the back of the room mentally jumping for joy as he walked through the honors and why treating the thousands of daily guests with respect and great service pays major dividends. I was excited to be working with such an amazing and receptive room of go-getters who truly walk the talk when it comes to delivering exceptional service.
I send out a thank you again to Phil and his nationally recognized team. I wish them another successful season in this stunningly beautiful part of the world and am honored to have had the chance to Capture their Minds.
