Grand Rapids, MI – In the age of social distancing, mask mandates, and heightened uncertainty of what’s to come next, one author is bucking the trend by hosting a live book launch event. The event titled, “How to Positively Disrupt & Upshift Your Mindset During Unique Times,” will take place in downtown Grand Rapids at Celebration Cinema Studio Park on Tuesday, April 27 from 10:30am-12pm. Key local community partners include Northpointe Bank, Benchmark Mortgage, and the Wyoming-Kentwood Area Chamber of Commerce.
Due to the overwhelming response that led the event to quickly sell out, the Mind Capture Team is adding an afternoon session, designed to specifically attract and thank hospitality and front-line businesses in the area. Fifty tickets will be donated to small business owners interested in attending. This second session will run from 1:30-3pm at the same location.
Bestselling author Tony Rubleski is marking the release of his seventh book titled Positive Disruption: A Quote and a Question to Upshift Your Life with a special keynote presentation, media Q&A interview panel, and book signing. The morning keynote, based on the new book, will focus on the power of positivity, habit force, lessons from other leaders, and ways to look ahead with greater hope and no fear.
Immediately after the morning’s presentation by Tony, Rachael Ruiz from WOODTV8 and Shelley Irwin with WGVU NPR will lead a unique panel interview with Tony and the book’s creative team, Kelsey Turek and Laura Helmling. During the afternoon session, event MC and Franchise Development Manager at EXIT Realty Corp. International, Leonard Cradit, will interview Tony and his creative team, led by audience questions.
Both the morning and afternoon events are designed to raise awareness for the small business community, particularly the restaurant and hospitality sectors, which have been ravaged due to social distance measures, in-person seating closures, and extended stay-at-home orders. Both event sessions will partner with Food Hugs, a local 501c3, led by local chef and Amore Trattoria Italiana restaurant owner Jenna Arcidiacono. Their mission is to help provide meals for all people in need, tips for restaurant staff, and love for the community.
“We’ve had a positive reaction related to the event from local clients, sponsors, media, and fans of the new book. To sell out our first session in less than two weeks speaks volumes as to people’s level of interest in attending live events,” stated Rubleski. “People are excited for in-person, social connection again. They are getting burned out on Zoom, seeking a change of scenery, and are ready for in-person meetings. We are delighted and excited to be adding an afternoon session since the initial reaction and positive response to the event has been much greater than we originally anticipated.”
The event is open to the public and tickets for the afternoon session go on sale on Wednesday, April 7 at 10:00AM. Space is limited to 100 attendees with a two-ticket limit per company. Each attendee will also receive a copy of the new book upon admission. Safety and attendee wellbeing are of the highest importance; the event team and venue will be following all COVID-19 protocols and regulations, including wearing a mask. Event details and ticket information can be found here.
