Spring Lake, MI – After appearances on a star-studded list of television shows including Oprah, The Montel Williams Show, ABC’s The View and CNN’s Larry King Live, co-creator of the Chicken Soup for The Soul book series, and star of the hit film and #1 book in the land ‘The Secret’, Jack Canfield spent nearly one-hour on the phone with local entrepreneur and publisher Tony Rubleski.
“Getting Jack to agree to do the interview for our newsletter ‘A Captured Mind’ was a huge achievement considering how busy he’s been lately with major media appearances and his intense travel schedule” stated newsletter editor and publisher Tony Rubleski. “In each month’s newsletter issue we interview one top thought leader and it doesn’t get much bigger than Jack Canfield. The recorded interview which we’ll use for the September issue is phenomenal” he added.
A three-minute audio excerpt of the interview is available for listening by visiting: www.mindcapturegroup.com and clicking on “The Secret - Jack Canfield Interview” icon.
The movie ‘The Secret’ has been the rage of the entertainment industry and popular culture after the surprise success of the film’s word-of-mouth buzz on the Internet and mass media coverage. Now the top book in the land, the 2006 film was only made available for viewing online or purchase on the Internet thus skipping the traditional route of first appearing in movie theatres, and then on DVD.
Tony Rubleski is currently the president of Mind Capture Group. His work has been featured in outlets ranging from Bottom Line Magazine, The Detroit Free Press, to the FOX TV network, Entrepreneur Magazine Radio, and Michigan Talk Radio. He was recently named a columnist on marketing and sales related topics for national publications Opportunity World and Money N’ Profits magazines. ( 3 / 502 )I recently spoke in Las Vegas at a major conference on marketing and 'Mind Capture'. I had the good fortune and opportunity to "eavesdrop" in on an up close, closed door VIP conversation with music legend, and entrepreneur Mick Fleetwood from the rock group Fleetwood Mac.
I picked up several pieces of wisdom from this memorable encounter that I'd like to share in this eletter with you.
The setting: backstage at the Mandalay Bay convention center. Mick had just finished delivering a 45-minute keynote talk to roughly 4000 assembled conference attendees on the subject of creativity, music, his latest venture into the wine business and ways build a successful business.
Here's some interesting "Behind The Music" trivia most people don't know that we learned during our encounter with Mick: The hit song Tusk came very close to never making it to the record or airwaves. The band initially didn't like the song and discarded it. It wasn't until a fluke idea hit Mick while vacationing in France that the classic song was brought back from the dead, remixed with the USC marching band at Dodger stadium and added to the album. The rest as they say is music history.
After Mick's talk I quickly walked back stage and directly into a small room located just below the stage with a group of roughly 10 people. What transpired next was incredible. Having the chance to get a photo and an autograph from someone famous is always an interesting experience, but the next 25-minutes were a real eye opener.
As we sat down, Mick began to field questions from the assembled VIP's and the conference marketing team. As he answered various questions, I picked up three nuggets of wisdom that I'd like to share with you.
One, you must be enthusiastic with whatever you choose to pursue in life. He described how many radio stations in the early days before they broke through, appreciated how sincere they were and were attracted to their energy. They knew they had to have faith and enthusiasm when promoting the band to have any shot at standing out and getting their songs played on the radio.
Two, you must embrace change and new ideas. Here you'd think that it would be easy for a super successful rock star to play it safe and possibly become comfortable with past successes. He described that you must continue to be creating and learning new things. Settling in was not an option, for him or the band for that matter.
Three, creativity is key in any successful band or enterprise. For example, his latest venture into the wine business has taken four years and lots of ideas and input from others to gain distribution into retail outlets such as Costco. This has taken creativity, hard work and input from others to make possible.
There you have it. Sage advice from one of the most successful drummers in rock and roll history that each one of us can use to improve our businesses, organizations and lives.
In the next eletter issue we'll explore my recent interview I conducted for an upcoming issue of my subscription based newsletter at www.ACapturedMind.com with Jack Canfield creator of the juggernaut known as Chicken Soup for The Soul and star of the movie phenomenon 'The Secret' which has also been the #1 book the last 7-weeks here in the U.S.
Until next issue, keep building 'Mind Capture' and profits!
